ACLU-backed demonic child pornster will serve his 200 years

I hope he lives that long and is treated, well, like people of his ilk are normally treated in jail.

Don Surber reports: Supreme court OKs 200 years for child porn
Proving not everyone in Washington has lost his mind, justices denied an appeal of a 200-year sentence for a high school teacher who downloaded child porn from 1996 until he was caught in 2002, Reuters reported.

Without any comment, the high court declined to hear the constitutional challenge to the sentence given to Morton Berger, who at the time of his arrest in 2002 was a married, 52-year-old high school teacher with no prior criminal record.

Berger’s lawyers said his lengthy punishment was grossly disproportionate to his crime and exceeded the sentences regularly imposed in Arizona for violent crimes that result in serious injury to the victim.

But child porn is a violent crime. A person rapes a child and photographs it. By downloading child porn, a man becomes an accessory to the crime after the fact.

Said Reuters:
Evidence at trial established that Berger possessed numerous videos and photo images of different children, some younger than 10 years old, being subjected to sexual acts with adults and other children.The jury heard testimony that Berger had downloaded child pornography on his computer from 1996 to 2002. He was convicted on 20 separate counts.

The ACLU of Arizona had helped with this appeal. Its press release said:

ACLU cooperating attorney Don Peters assisted in filing a brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to consider overturning a 200-year sentence that was given to a man who was found to be in possession of child pornography. Morton Berger was charged with 20 separate counts of sexual exploitation of a minor under the age of 15 and sentenced to 20 consecutive 10-year sentences for possession of child pornography.

The Arizona Supreme Court upheld the conviction and rejected the ACLU’s argument that the sentence was excessive and violated the Eighth Amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment.

The federal Supreme Court rejection of this case comes on the heels of the arrest on Friday of Charles Rust-Tierney, a former president of the ACLU in Virginia, on child porn charges.

Dang! 200 years? I hope he packed some clean underwear and a lunch.

Unsympathetic

Let me state this up front: I am a convert, from agnostic to a believer. I believe in God, in Good and Evil. But I feel I have to write about this turn of events from an unsympathetic viewpoint.

SAN DIEGO – The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego said Tuesday that it planned to file for bankruptcy protection to put off going to trial in more than 140 lawsuits alleging sexual abuse by priests.

When I worked Child Abuse for a major California law enforcement agency I had the prime suspect in one of my cases “disappeared” and moved from the local diocese. I was not at all pleased. Additionally, at the time, I was told to drop the case and move on with others.

Wrong is wrong, and Evil is Evil, no matter the robe or uniform or inclination. I am fresh out of sympathy when I read of this turn of events.

Poor Wittle Ashford Gots His Feelings Hurted

It seems that I may have recently started something, and that in doing so I’ve offended the high pedophile whack job Lindsay Ashord. Don’t worry, I’m not about to be upset that the little wiener is complaining and making a fuse just because someone is a little tired of him abusing the world wide web by publishing his tripe accounts of how horrible the rest of the world is for not letting him legally rape little girls.

Months ago I mentioned at my place that Ashford had decided to play political pundit by using his sexual arousal as a means of picking the man whose children he’d most like to see growing up in the White House.

I was rather disappointed with the slow reaction time to this matter on behalf of a great many political leaders, and had recently mentioned it again. The matter really heated up when *someone* decided to point out on the Obama blogs that Ashford was up to his tricks again.

Seems that suddenly, people were worried, and worried enough that they sent this letter to Ashford.

The only thing I can say is: “Good for you Obama. I may hate your politics, and I may swear on my life that you’ll never have my vote… but on this subject alone, and on this particular action, you have my respect. As long as you follow through that is.”

Of course, Ashford in his usual whining ranting isn’t as happy about this little development, and is pleading his rights to freedom of speech:

You may also remember that my nemesis, the lovely Lilo, as well as some other bloggers got very upset about the post and wrote all sorts of humourous things as a result. In fact, intrepid Lilo even went so far as to telephone the offices of several of the politicians mentioned to tell them of the blog post. Much to her surprise, none of them did anything! Undeterred, Lilo has brought up the whole thing again. It appears that this time around, somebody, somewhere, listened. Yesterday, this website received a letter from Robert Bauer of the law Perkins Coie, who represent Obama for America demanding that the pictures be taken down. Not only that, Bauer demanded that I remove any mention of Obama or his family from the website, as well as any links to Obama’s website.

First off, despite the fact that I really am rather lovely- I’d think I was a little out of Ashfords league, seeing how I can defend myself against sexual predators such as himself, and I’ve already surpassed his level (or lack of) intelligence. But that’s beside the point.

More importantly, Ashford is forgetting a very important little detail- as much as he likes to throw around the right to freedom of speech as granted by the US Constitution, he should be looking at other laws we have here, that aren’t so favorable to “his kind”. Such as the Child Protection act of 2003 (also known as the PROTECT ACT:

The Child Protect Act passed in 2003 gives U.S. law enforcement greater authority to pursue sexual predators across borders. It authorizes a penalty of up to 30 years in prison for U.S. citizens engaged in an act of child sexual exploitation, even if it occurs in another country.

Ashford states that I’m “undeterred”, and he’s right. I’ll continue to be here, continue to insist that our leaders protect our children from the likes of scum like him.

A Must-Sign Petition

A prominent children’s rights activist has alerted me to a very timely, relevant petition.

The petition seeks to ban all websites which promote paedophilia; the petition specifically names the NAMBLA website and the revolting sites of sleeze bag Lindsay Ashford.

Sign the petition today if you believe in a safer world for your children. These websites rationalize predatory behaviour and encourage potential abusers in their psychotic delusions. Lindsay Ashford goes so far as to prey on our children on the face of his website.

It is time for responsible, caring adults to unite in saying NO to child exploitation and abuse.

ACLU Pres, Youth Sports Coach, Predatory Paedophile

Charles Rust-Tierney was President of the ACLU in Virginia from 2002-2005. A youth sports coach who yesterday appeared in court on charges of downloading child pornography from the net. Perhaps this explains why the ACLU always appears more concerned with the rights of child molesters than children. Little has been reported in the case except that Rust-Tierney admitted to downloading numerous images and videos after they were seized from his home.

As a sidenote, it is important to recall the findings of Malesky & Ennis through their analysis of the BoyChat forum (2004) that:

there is evidence suggesting that individuals who have been convicted of Internet-related, non-contact sexual offenses are likely to have committed undetected ‘hands on’ offenses as well.

Free Speech, Ignorance or Wickedness? You Decide

What is up with Amazon you may be asking yourself. I’d like to take a moment to explain. Amazon apparently doesn’t like being told what they should and shouldn’t sell. They are being quite stubborn as a matter of fact. But what’s interesting here is that while they claim FREE SPEECH as the reason for harboring and selling the words of an admitted child molester, they are censoring their customers comments.

And as if that weren’t enough, their own publishing company BookSurge has removed this book from distribution. Wonder why? And yet Amazon, continues to sell the iUniverse copy of Viamund’s book. This is quite telling isn’t it? iUniverse cancelled their contract with Viamund after realizing what it was that had been printed…..BookSurge is with the program enough to know they need to get rid of that book quickly. Only Amazon is stupid? wicked? thoughtless? enough to continue selling it. Well….attempting to sell it. Interesting that they will turn their back on their own responsibility in order to offer a book for sale that has dropped in ranking from 384,000 to almost 2 millionth in the space of two weeks. Thank you everyone who has helped with this!

How interesting! Amazon is also offering the book in defiance of the publisher. I believe it will be gone completely within a couple of weeks at the most. Does that make what Amazon did ‘ok’ to you? The way I see it…..Amazon thumbed their noses at children, then they proceeded to censor our comments claiming they opposed censorship, then they wisely withdrew the edition that their own publisher printed while offering the edition of their competitor for sale. Hmm.

Nah, I think I can live without them. What it has come down to is that Amazon cannot reform itself. When the book disappears from Amazon it won’t be because of them, it will be because iUniverse was successful in retrieving all copies. By the way iUniverse is owned by Barnes & Noble the first book seller to respond to our request. They have my current and future support.

Orange County, CA Ex-judge Kline gets prison

Six years of legal wrangling ends with former O.C. Superior Court judge sentenced to 27 months for child pornography.

LOS ANGELES – Former Superior Court Judge Ronald C. Kline offered “a lifetime of apologies” and then collapsed Tuesday as he was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

Kline, 66, had just learned that U.S. District Court Judge Consuelo B. Marshall was rejecting his bid to be placed on probation when his eyes fluttered and his knees buckled.

“I think I’m going to faint,” he said as he crumbled into the arms of Paul S. Meyer, his defense attorney…

… Tuesday’s sentencing ended nearly six years of legal wrangling that saw Kline charged at one point with possessing child pornography in federal court and child molestation in state courts.

The state case was ultimately dismissed, based on a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that the prosecution was pressed beyond the statute of limitations.

The federal pornography case was also threatened in 2003 when Marshall ruled that the evidence of pornographic images found on his home computer had been illegally seized.

But a federal appeals court disagreed with Marshall in 2004, and the pornography charges were reinstated.

A year later, in December 2005, the ex-judge pleaded guilty and broke down in tears…

…Tuesday, he lost his freedom. He will not be eligible for parole until he serves at least 23 months. He was given until May 21 to report to federal prison.

Marshall said Tuesday that the seriousness of the porn charges demanded that Kline be punished. She ordered that Kline be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life, that he not possess any computer equipment and that he not access the Internet during three years of probation.

Kline admitted he stored more than 100 sexually explicit photos of under-age boys on his computer and on several disks found at his Irvine home in November 2001.

Police caught onto Kline after a Canadian computer whiz hacked into the judge’s Irvine home computer and discovered sexually explicit images of young boys and a diary that revealed Kline’s fantasies involving young boys. A subsequent search of his court computer revealed more images and more Web sites…

Not about politics….

… it’s about kids. However, I’m willing to admit- I lean towards the right more than the left, because I imagine that my political beliefs are bound to be questions, that’s okay though.

Eight months ago, I mentioned to you that self admitted pedophile Lindsay Ashford was starting to gear up a little early for the ‘08 bid for the election. He’d already composed his list of White House hopefuls, and was looking over the qualifications to see just which hopeful he’d be most supportive of. The problem with this was that he was using the daughters, and granddaughters of his list of hopefuls, and his sexual attraction for each child as a measuring stick to determine who he’d be happiest to see win.

At that time, I also shared that because he was displaying actual photos of the children, and because of the context of his post, I had attempted to use it to draw attention to this online predator to our members of congress. I called office after office, explaining in detail the issue, and providing the url of the post.

Most were shocked to hear what I was telling, some didn’t even hesitate to load the page, just because it seemed so impossible that someone would actually do this. Security at Capital Hill was contacted.

Now, remember that not even a month later, the John Walsh Child Protection Act was signed into law. It was a big to-do. An entire high profile display of just how important the safety of our children is to Capital Hill. So, with that in mind- what do you think came of the knowledge so many people have of Lindsay Ashford? What do you think was done to protect the innocent children splashed across his website just because he’s a sick freak, and because their relatives are political leaders? Nothing.

You’ll be voting in ‘08, for a group of people who want you to believe that by signing their names to laws, by voting in support of them, they are interested in protecting your children… when in truth- they can’t even protect their own.

That day I called and complained about this sickening post by a pedophile- I also ran a post explaining to readers that ONE member of Congress had an employee that stated they weren’t concerned with this, that they had no comment, and no plans to do anything. His comments were in my first post (linked at the top) but removed, because I actually believed for a moment, that his response did nothing but encourage the pedophiles. However, it wasn’t long afterwards that I received this:

Hi Lilo,

I just wanted to give you an update on the pictures you called about earlier.

Senator ***** daughters are private citizens and our hope is that they will be treated as such, and I must admit it was more than a little disturbing to see them displayed in that fashion. My concern with commenting further on this matter is that a reaction from me would somehow encourage further discussion of the girls on that person’s website, which is the last thing anyone wants.

If there are any further updates on this, though, I would greatly appreciate it if you’d pass them along to me. Meanwhile, I can promise you that Senator ***** will continue to work in the U.S. Senate to strengthen laws that put child predators behind bars.

That Senator is running for President, and while I was assured that he was working to make laws stronger to protect our kids… I have to wonder why his children are still featured on a pedophile’s website, a site that is directly related to one intended to help pedophiles entrap young girls into illegal sexual relationships.

Viamund Updates ~ Amazon Guilty as Charged

We got a very helpful email through our website today. Anyone wanting to leave a comment not viewable on the blog, you can contact us HERE. Let’s look at this latest email and see what we can figure out about Amazon…..

“I have been following your “Boycott Amazon” campaign. I sent them an email on Thursday night (well, early Friday morning) regarding “the Rake’s” book. That evening they had 2 listings for the book, one which had 9 negative reviews. Today the listing with the negative reviews has been made unavailable……. I am trying to find a cached version of the first page, but I thought I would let you know in case you had one and wanted to highlight this effort by Amazon to quash any negative publicity about this so-called “book”. Even though I am a Prime Member and spend a significant amount of money on Amazon each year (not any more!), they responded to me with a similar form letter regarding their policies on censorship.

Now we see that while they don’t believe in censoring material they offer, they don’t have a problem with censoring their reviewers.

None of the comments were offensive (i.e. containing obscene language), they just exposed this book for the trash that it is. I am also planning to write letters to several major newspapers in my area and also try to contact Amazon’s investors.

Wow! Amazon Expose at it’s finest! Amazon wouldn’t remove a child molesters book, claiming they opposed censorship, but they WILL censor your comments about it. Isn’t that interesting? Their refusal to remove it wasn’t about the protection of free speech AT ALL! It was about harboring child predators. And they are GUILTY as charged!

Look at the link again. The search results for the book. The only one showing available for purchase is the one published by iUniverse in association with Barnes & Noble. They cancelled their contract with Viamund after the first few copies were printed. Viamund then moved on to BookSurge (owned by Amazon) who published his book then distributed it through Amazon! Now that the heat is on them, and after they have claimed to oppose censorship of any kind, this is their response?

How exactly did they respond to this Boycott against them?? By censoring your reviews!!

While at first glance it may look like a victory. They did remove the book they allowed him to self-publish through BookSurge, afterall. Yet they are STILL selling the other copy. Therefore, to me at least, this looks to be a clear case of Amazon doing the very thing they used to rationalize the distribution of a child predators advocation of child molestation. The Boycott Amazon! campaign continues.
